Trustees
A Trustee must be at least twenty –one years of age and a member pf an A.
M. E. Zion Church in good standing. The Pastor in Charge shall nominate one candidate for
each vacancy. The members elect the trustee by a majority vote. All Trustees are elected
annually with the exception of the Pastor in Charge. The Quarterly Conference is vested
with the power to confirm the election of each trustee, and to remove him or her from office
for just cause.
The duties of the Board of Trustees include: (a) responsibility for the
physical maintenance and safeguard of the real property, physical equipment and all other
assets owned by the church; (b) to insure that order and decorum prevail in the church at
all times; and (c) to perform the duties of the stewards where there is not a duly constituted
Board of Stewards.
The Board of Trustees shall consist of not less than three members nor more than fifteen
members, one of who shall be the Pastor in Charge. There are presently thirteen persons
that comprise our Trustee Board.
